The motivation to create this blog was the announcement by the UK Government that it intended to build 33GW nameplate capacity of wind-turbines.
When I looked into the figures, the costs from the Government's own figures were vast, and the benefits minimal.
I will attempt to justify how I reached that conclusion here, and also look at some of the other energy resources and alternatives.
My conclusion is clear, that nuclear energy is the only sensible alternative, both here in the UK and in other areas with a cold climate, and that renewables are an expensive distraction.
This conclusion is numbers based, and I welcome rebuttal - I may have dropped a decimal place somewhere!
